Depending on the season, visitors to Greenland can enjoy a variety of activities. There are many things to do in the summer, such as whale-watching in the summer and hiking in the autumn, including viewing the northern lights in the spring, dog sledding in the winter, and skiing in the winter. When the snow has melted and the sun has been out for long periods, mid-May through mid-September are most ideal times to visit. There is a considerable drop in popularity during the coldest and darkest months, November through February. It is worth visiting when it is colder to see the northern lights, but they are best seen from October to March.
